Majella Hollywood - Manager

Majella is originally from Newry, Co Down and was educated at University of Ulster, Jordanstown, graduating with a BMus Hons in 1998. Majella has been involved with UYC since the very beginning as its part-time Choral Organiser in 1998, combining this role with a music teaching job in her old school – Sacred Heart Grammar School and struggling through a still-to-be-finished MPhil in left-hand piano music!

In July 2002, Majella was appointed full-time Manager of Ulster Youth Choir.

In addition to her work with UYC, Majella sings with the Belfast Philharmonic Choir and since 2006 has been a member of the music staff of the Belfast Philharmonic 'Phil Kids' Children's Choir..

Helen Morris – Administrator

Originally from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Helen moved to Belfast in 1998 to study for a BA in Music and Ethnomusicology at Queen’s University.

Helen joined the staff of UYC in March 2004. She also plays flute, oboe and piano and enjoys performing, teaching and attending concerts. Previously Helen had worked part-time for the Ulster Orchestra whilst at university.
